I’ve seen these cute little handheld facial cleansing brushes everywhere. And I can’t deny, I’m usually one to try out beauty products that get lots of good reviews… Which leads us here.

The one I chose to purchase (after much research and Youtube product review watching), is the Conair True Glow Sonic Skincare Solution Brush. A mouthful, for sure. It’s a facial cleansing brush that claims to “make your cleanser 2x more effective. After just one use, pores are 30% less visible. Sonic technology powers this high-performance cleansing brush at 300 oscillations per second. Without irritation, it unclogs pores and washes away the embedded dirt and oil that can cause breakouts and dull, patchy, tired-looking skin. This phenomenal sonic brush prepares skin to absorb moisturizers better–and fully moisturized skin is radiant skin. Regular use of the Sonic Skincare Solution leaves skin feeling healthier and looking its best.”

This model can be purchased at multiple retailers including Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. It retails for about $50, is completely waterproof, and comes in a variety of colors to choose from – black, white, light pink/white, light pink, lavender/white, and dark pink. Even guys can use it – no color discrimination 😉

It comes with two brush heads: regular + sensitive, a charger cord, and a compact stand – perfect for storing the brush in a bathroom cabinet. You can also opt to separately purchase a body brush head, which is bigger in size for optimum cleansing coverage. It has 3 speeds – low, medium, and high, and has an automatic “even cleanse” timer that tells you to move to another part of the face every 10 seconds. It even turns off automatically after 60 seconds, (the time allotted to complete washing your entire face), which I absolutely love. Keeps me from spending too much time using this toy in the morning!

The battery life on it is great. I use it once daily in the morning, and it only needs a re-charge about once every 2-3 weeks.

In my opinion, no need to splurge on one of the ever-popular Clarisonic series brushes or other more expensive options, but disclaimer: I have nothing to compare this to. I have heard that this brush fits more comfortably in the hand vs. the Clarisonic MIA, and that it gets the job done just as well, but again… preference and personal experience with a product is everything. All I know is that since using this (it’s been about 2 months now), my skin literally feels smoother and has such a polished look, + personally I feel that it did minimize the appearance of my pores. No, I am not being paid to say this. Yes, I wish I was. Nor did I receive the product for free.

I will say, however, that there are plenty of different variations of these brushes on the market. It all depends on what you hope to get out of the product. I’m sure there are other cost-effective options that work just as well. But beware, always watch product reviews before purchasing! Right before I decided to finally buy this one, I was going to purchase another version before I watched the reviews and found that the brush just wasn’t good quality.

Also, there’s a difference between a sonic brush and a spin brush, and between these kinds of brushes and silicon brushes. So depending on what you’re looking for, what kind of skin you have, and what you hope to get out of your use, be sure to weigh your options. This particular one does not spin in a circular motion, it vibrates (like the Clarisonic MIA)… which I wanted because I felt a ‘spin’ would be too harsh on my skin for daily use. It’s also not silicon.

Just had to share this treasure of a find! Especially for people who may have been contemplating purchasing a sonic facial cleansing brush, and need help choosing between all the options out there.

God is love, love is r e a l.
& this is where it all fits into, well… the Gray scheme of things.

  3. Love how engaging you are with your audience. I’m always going through things with my skin… Are there any specifics for people who have very sensitive skin? I took accutane for 6 months and I know I have to be very particular on what I use on my skin… I’m def going to do more research just interested to see if you heard any reviews on sensitive skin.

  4. Thank you, Facia! For skin more on the sensitive side I would say it has a lot more to do with the actual product you’re using with the brush. The brush itself I don’t think would be a problem – it comes with a ‘sensitive’ brush head and I would just suggest using it on the lowest setting and no more than once a day. I haven’t done much research on it since it’s not a personal problem of mine, but I definitely think it’s worth it to try it out!
