This post really should be called ‘Inspector Gadget,’ because that’s who I feel like every time I wear this coat. However, since it’s my first post it only seemed right that it be called ‘The Intro’. But that’s neither here nor there.
Anyway, The Gray Scheme of Things (affectionately known as TGSOT) is finally here! WE ARE LIIIIVE! Y’all don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to say that.
There were literally so many people who went into helping me launch this and it’s a project I’ve been working on for months now. I feel like I was pregnant and I finally just gave birth! A little melodramatic but y’all get the point 😉 This post is for anyone who has played a huge part in the success of the launch of The Gray Scheme of Things. THANK YOU! You are truly a #MAJORKEY. From people I hired online to set up my web theme, to people I hired on Etsy for the creation of my logos and helping me further set up the codes and details of the site, to my boyfriend for working with me and my demands + acting as my photographer, to anyone in support of what I’m doing, to people just looking at my Instagram and now the blog and following me… Nobody can do this successfully alone and it wouldn’t be possible without a team behind me! Seriously, thank y’all. #YouDaBest
On to the outfit details – I absolutely la la loveee this turtleneck. The cognac color is so bomb (goes with literally any and everything) and the sleeves are super long with little trendy slits in them, which my monkey arms appreciate. It’s also become a winter staple for me since the neck on it is so long… it’s nice to wear because it conveniently slides right over your face for those super brrrr days (necessary in NYC).
And of course the duster coat (the star of the show). I always feel like Inspector Gadget when I wear it, but it’s super warm and heavy, and even with the slits coming up the sides I don’t feel a draft. Plus it’s cool because the slits give it a different edge and flair. Actually now that I’m thinking about it… the slits are the only reason I bought it.
The sunglasses? O b s e s s e d. The marble design is so trendy and they’re neutral so they go with anything.
I purchased the patent booties this past fall – another one of those random buys. Sad, I know. As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to have them. *que the Kanye shrugs* I did, however, consciously wait it out… until I received a 30% off coupon in my email. Perfect timing 😉
God is love, love is r e a l.
& this is where it all fits into, well… the Gray scheme of things.
